Whereabouts

Whereabouts

The BWF and other anti-doping organisations conduct testing both “in-competition” and “out of competition”. This is an important part of an anti-doping programme.

The BWF has a Registered Testing Pool (RTP) – a list of players (badminton / para-badminton) who meet the criteria below. Each person on this list is required to provide “Whereabouts Information” for each day of the year. This is mandatory. This information must be provided through WADA’s online ADAMS system – see below for more information on the requirements.

The criterion for badminton players to be included on the RTP are:

  • Top 10 in the BWF World Ranking for men’s singles and women’s singles
  • Top 5 pairs in the BWF World Ranking for men’s / women’s / mixed doubles
  • Any player coming back from retirement / period of ineligibility
  • Other players the BWF determines that should go on the RTP

The criterion for para-badminton players to be included on the RTP are:

  • Top players in the BWF Para-Badminton World Rankings
  • Medaled at the most recent Para-Badminton World Championships
  • Any player coming back from retirement / period of ineligibility that BWF wishes to include on the list
  • Other players the BWF determines that should go on the RTP
