1. BWF Office Closure
Please be advised that the BWF Office will be closed for a national holiday on Wednesday 18 October to mark “Deepavali” – the Hindu Festival of Light.
2. Nominations of Candidates – Para Badminton Athletes’ Commission Elections
Deadline Friday 20 October 2017. Please see the Announcements page – BWF website.
There are five (5) positions available and the Commission members will serve a four (4) year term to 2021. The elections will take place Friday 24 November 2017 at the BWF Para-Badminton World Championships in Ulsan Korea.
3. Award Nominations 2017 – deadline 31 October
BWF is calling for nominations for the BWF awards 2017. Members have until the end of October to nominate people and organisations for awards.
These awards recognize excellence, performance and long service.

5. BWF World Junior Championships (Individuals) – Yogyakarta, Indonesia – 16 – 22 October 2017
The matches for the last two days of the Individual Championships are being streamed live on BadmintonWorld.TV (linked here).
6. Membership Application – Bolivia
BWF has received a membership application from the Federación Boliviana de Bádminton. Please find attached the Schedule A.
As per Clause 12.1 of the BWF Constitution, the application and the supporting documents have been reviewed and verified as meeting the requirements for membership under Clause 8.
Further – as per Clause 12.2 of the BWF Constitution “In the absence of the receipt of an objection from five (5) or more Members within a period of one (1) month after such notification, Council shall have power to elect the applicant as a Member”.
This one month period ends on Friday 10 November 2017.
